POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for direct management of production and development compounding, inventory, and shipping and receiving teams. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations and planning the use of materials and human resources for related activities in the operation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage production staff to include shipping, receiving, material handling, operators, and technicians
  • Oversee daily plant operations
  • Recruit, hire, discipline and retain employees
  • Maintain an employee schedule that supports the operations docket
  • Contribute to AOP planning to include OpEx and CapEx budgeting activities
  • Track and report operational metrics and KPIs to relevant stakeholders
  • Promote Interfacial core values and cultivate an engaged team
  • Ensure employee knowledge and compliance of all plant safety and housekeeping rules
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities
  • Lead continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure accurate inventory and data management
  • Ensure all plant equipment and facilities are maintained
  • Ensure hazard assessments are performed on materials and equipment
  • Maintain proper supply levels in the plant
  • Author and maintain plant Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure plant compliance with environment and occupational guidelines
  • Ensure production processes and finished goods meet Interfacial quality standards
  • Assist with on-site audits of the operation and provide tours as necessary
  • Maintain ERP integrity and complete transactions in the ERP system as necessary
  • Work cross-functionally to maintain adequate material flow and meet customer expectations
  • Contribute in Operations-related docket meetings and other team and cross-functional meetings as needed

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years managing direct reports
  • Experience leading teams to achieve goals and execute to deadlines
  • Project management experience
  • Positive attitude and experience impacting team engagement and culture
  • Experience managing teams through change
  • Experience setting annual goals and providing performance feedback
  • Experience with safety and housekeeping teams

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • 10+ years working in a manufacturing environment
  • Managing department budgets
  • ISO processes (compliance or certification)
  • Leading 6S projects
  • Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Six Sigma
  • Solidworks or AutoCAD projects
